Adjust an image's colour and tone
Brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, temperature and tint, applied to your image on your device. Every one of these is arithmetic on pixel values with a number you chose - there is no model here, nothing is guessed, and the same image with the same settings produces the same file every time. Supported formats
This tool accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF files. Everything is decoded by your own browser, so the formats available depend on what your browser can open - which for HEIC in particular varies between Safari and other browsers.
Because the image is rebuilt from raw pixels, EXIF metadata such as camera details, timestamps and GPS coordinates does not carry into the result. Orientation is applied to the pixels first, so photographs stay the right way up. Embedded colour profiles are also dropped and the output is saved as sRGB, which can shift colours slightly in wide-gamut photographs. Animated files are refused rather than being flattened to a single frame.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between brightness and exposure?
Brightness adds a fixed amount to every pixel, so it lifts the shadows and flattens the picture. Exposure multiplies, the way opening the aperture would, so it brightens the midtones and highlights far more than the shadows. Exposure usually looks more like the photograph you meant to take; brightness is the blunter tool.
Why does contrast not make the image lighter or darker?
Because it pivots around mid-grey: values above it move up, values below it move down, and the middle stays put. That is what contrast means. A control that brightened as it added contrast would be doing two things and telling you about one.
Is this AI?
No, and it would be a worse tool if it were. Every adjustment here is a defined function of the pixel value you started with. Nothing is generated, nothing is predicted, and there is no model to download or to send your image to.
Will adjusting the colours reduce the quality?
The adjustment is computed at full precision, so the arithmetic itself costs nothing visible. Saving costs what saving always costs: a JPEG is re-encoded and loses a little, a PNG does not. Very strong adjustments can push large areas to pure black or pure white, and detail lost that way does not come back by moving the slider down again.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the page is prevented from making network requests with your image by a content security policy.
